Not really. It would probably be more natural to use second person, rather than first person, although that might be a social, rather than language thing. But, if you're going to use 'we', then you need to be consistent and use plural 'lives', and 'them' as well. The last 'life', being general, would be OK, but to avoid repetition, would be more natural with a pronoun, such as 'it' or 'them'.
