What's the level of rudeness of "fricking"? Is it equivalent to "the hell"?

Thank you.

Fricking is a relatively low level swear word. I know my parents often would say "fricken hell" when exclaiming about a mess, or problem. The Oxford dictionary says Fricking is derived from fucking and it was first used in the 1930s. It would/could be used to get past tv censors in countries that censor swear words, but it would be crass to use it in conversation with a teacher, boss or client.

fricking is something that a 5 year old would be in trouble for. If you are 12 or older, its fine, and sometimes funny!

Yes, in my opinion it's more of a low level substitute for the much stronger "f*ck" I've heard both fricking/freaking and also frack/fracking versions used in films such as "Austin Powers", "Friends" and the scifi "Battlestar Galactica" so it gets around the bad language issue and they can go for a lower rating. What do others think?

I believe the correct spelling you're searching for is "freaking". It would be enough to say that this word, although context-dependent, isn't THAT rude to even be used around religious people. I know they always get weird about actual cuss words.
