Hello. I cannot handle this problem.
Hello. I am coming with a preposition problem again. It makes me confused a lot. Thank you for reading in advance.
2. How did you manage to —————— of that snob?
a) get over
b) get rid of
c) get off
d) get round
However now it includes not only asking which preposition is proper but also asking about 'of noun form'. Actually it is also a preposition problem as I think. I learned that of noun is equal to adjective. For example, of beauty is equal to beautiful. Then with that logic, of that snob is equal to snobbish as far as I understand. Then it doesn't make sense. How can I solve this problem? I have intuition about thinking like preposition of is quite like.. denoting parts of something. I don't know what I am talking about. Prepositions are killing me. In a nutshell, how can I solve the number 2 problem understanding prepositions well?
Phew.. I appreciate it so much whether you know the answer or not. Have a good one and good luck to you!

I don’t think this is actually a preposition problem or a “of noun” problem. This is a phrasal verb problem (a verb that consists of more than one word). Here, the phrasal verb the question is asking for is “to get rid of”. Examples: “I got rid of my old coat because it had holes in it.” “How did you get rid of that creepy guy who was bothering you?”

You shall keep always in mind the context.
You said that "of beauty is equal to beautiful". Well, yes and no.
Sure, "Anna is a girl of immense beauty" means that she's beautiful, but I can also say "the price of beauty", which does not mean "the beautiful price".
Likewise, "Don't be that snob" is different from "Get rid of that snob".
Anyway, in your exercise you would get "get rid of of", which would make no sense.

Nah. I do understand what snob means. However I don't understand why 'of' is placed before 'that snob'. That's the reason I feel confused. Thank you for trying to help me! Have a nice day!

Hey Amanda
Do you mean you don't understand the word SNOB? It's a person who thinks their views or tastes are superior to others, so they tend to treat people with contempt. SNOOTY is another word for the way they act.
