"to sort out my billing issue" or "to get my billing issue sorted"? what would u choose?
Hi friends,
I have a few question based on the scenario given below.
My monthly mobile bill has been prepared incorrectly by the mobile company and I am going to visit them. In this context, which is the most appropriate and how would u say it as a native speaker?
1) I am going to the mobile company to sort out my billing issue.
2) I am going to the mobile company to get my billing issue sorted.
"I am going to" or "I am visiting"? which is more natural in this context?
Thanks in advance!

Number 1 is the most natural. Use going instead of visiting. Also, while number 1 is correct I think most would say:
I'm going to the mobile company to get my billing issue fixed. An alternative to fixed would be resolved.

"To sort out my billing issue" means you do it yourself. "To get my billing issue sorted" means that you'll have someone else to do it. Hence, the second one is better because you're going to the mobile company to make them do that for you.
Another example:
"I'll cut my hair" means that I mean to do it myself in front of the mirror.
"I'll get my hair cut" means that I mean to go to the hairdressers.
"I'm going to" is more natural than "I'm visiting".

Niwantha, adding to the answers below: “sorted” is BrE. In the US, it is very rare to hear “sorted” used to mean “solved” or “resolved.” But we do use “sort out” for that meaning.
