"保重" is "take care", normally it's used as a farewell expression; "照顾" is "take care of", "look after".

保重 = Take care of yourself. / God bless you. *usually used at the occasion of parting 照顾 = look after sb. who need care (patients, children or the old )

Both has the same meaning but 保重 is for oneself, while 照顾 is for others. So 保重 translates to "take care of yourself".

You can "照顧" someone. But, you can't "保重" someone. Normally we say 保重 when someone is sick. And, 照顧 can be: 照顧你的家人, 照顧小孩 I hope it answer your question.
