Hi friends,
"Ann's being ill" or "Ann being ill" - Which is correct in the following context? Does this expression sound weird to you?
1) We will have to cancel the meeting due to Ann's being ill.
2) We will have to cancel the meeting due to Ann being ill.
Thanks in advance!

The first one is technically correct, but many native speakers will use the second one. In normal conversation, both are fine. In formal writing, use the first option.
