What Ian said. "Squidgy" is primarily a British word, and quite informal. I don't think I've ever heard it used in Canada. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/squidgy has a good description. If you look up "Pillsbury Dough Boy" on YouTube, you'll see a great example of "squidgy" or even "squidgy around the edges."
