Washington DC. The bronze statue is shown (51)__holding________ a paper with mathematical
calculations.
Plus, there is a star map at the (52) __atatue's________ base decorated with several metal
studs representing the sun, moon, stars, planets, and other astronomical objects. It is
(53)__interesting________ that the astronomers from the U.S. Naval Observatory helped position all

Seated is the answer. It is more of a passive statement. Someone arranges for the statue to be positioned in a particular place. 
You can also be seated.somewhere like at a wedding. Someone gives you a.particular seat at which to sit...it has your name card etc.
