Hello Ivy,
Fast food refers specifically to the food of a restaurant, café, etc.that requires little preparation before being served.
A ready meal is a meal cooked and bought at a shop but taken somewhere else, often home, to be heated and eaten.

Hi Ivy, I'd just like to add that often fast food often contains more fats and calories than a ready meal eg KFC, McDonalds, Hungry Jacks etc. You can buy ready meals in the frozen food section of supermarkets and they only need a short time in the microwave.

Fast food: hot food that is served very quickly in special restaurants, and often taken away to be eaten in the street.
Ready meal: a meal that you buy already prepared and which only needs to be heated before you eat it.
