You can also cut up pictures of the animals into their body parts, then as the children put the pictures together they can say what they are (with help) using the adjectives to describe the parts.

pig: four legs, curly tail, cools itself in the mud, says "oink" [It says "oink" in western culture; I think the Chinese have a different word.]
duck: a bird that lives in the water, has webbed feet
hen: lays eggs that we eat
chick: comes out of a hen's eggs
sheep: grows wool for hair
monkey: looks like people, but hairy and has a tail
goat: farm animal with horns
wolf: like a dog, only bigger and wild
fox: red animal with pointy ears and a tail with a white tip
bird: has feathers and flies through the air
ant: an insect that lives underground in large groups
flea: a hopping insect that bites
