Sorry Rokr... food has nothing to do with the tone of your voice. And neither does physical size! I've encountered some very deep voices from some very tiny people, from many different countries. If you train as a singer or an actor, you learn how to "place" your sound - where you make it resonate. With training, you can "place" your voice higher or lower to assist with your singing range, or to make an accent or character more authentic. Languages and accents do place the voice differently. This is a matter of breath control and practice. To try to answer your question anyway: dairy foods and other thick fatty foods will make your vocal chords cover up with mucus. You'll sound rough, I don't recommend this. Gargling with salt water, or sipping pineapple juice or apple cider vinegar clears your throat. My brother uses Drambuie before singing; I prefer lots of water. Singleview, it is possible to take on an accent comfortably - I've seen it happen with a number of non-English friends. The key here is to RELAX.

Rokr, the truth to the matter is, Americans are literally bigger than Asians. Therefore, they have a bigger lungs and voice box that are able to create a "deep" sound that we Asians are sadly to say, less capable of doing it. Sorry, I don't have any idea about the food affecting to vocal enhancement. Some people say, 'ginger' tea may help. :)

Hm I've never heard of such a thing, that beef-eating Americans have deeper voices... I never noticed any one ethnicity having a deeper voice than another, but in the case of Chinese speakers I assume that they sometimes have higher voices sometimes because Mandarin is tonal and words are pronounced "higher" than the average English word. I think it has more to do with your native language and your body than anything else. Who knows?
