What's the difference between "other" and "another" ? When you use one or "another" ?

"Another" means "one more". "Another person entered the room" -- There are already people who have entered the room, and now one more enters. It can also mean a different alternative. "Let's try this another day". "Other" can mean "not the same". - Did you just see Bill in the office? - No, other people as well. Here: Other = Someone who's not Bill. Similar: "Any other person can do it" = Anyone but me can do it. It can also mean "different" or "unusual". "Some strange, other place" Or a time in the recent past: "The other night" Sometimes they can be used for the same effect. "Another person can see it" or "Other people can see it" means the same thing.

another means: 1 one more person or thing of the same kind: do you want another glass of water? 2 a different person or thing: you have to find another job. other: used when you have mentioned one person or thing from a group and want to talk about one or more of the rest: Anna has a job but the other girls are still at school here is one sock but i cannot find the other one i ate an apple and the left the other for my brother tom is here but where are the others? i hope the examples are clear
