invited is the past participle of the verb invite
Candidates who are successful in the written test will be invited for an interview.
guest is a noun
Our special guest on the programme tonight is Robert de Niro.
or a verb

A is invited to a party and he does not show up: he will not be a guest.
B rings the bell of the house (were the party is) as he wanted to
