The difference between "give up" and "give in"
Can someone tell me how they are different?

Give up :
Meaning: Stop doing something that has been a habit
Example: I GAVE UP taking sugar in tea and coffee to lose weight.
Meaning: Stop being friendly, end relationships
Example: She GAVE UP all her school friends when she went to university.
Meaning: Stop doing something
Example: I have GIVEN UP trying to help them.
Meaning: Surrender, stop trying
Example: I can't think of the answer; I GIVE UP.
Meaning: Sacrifice or dedicate time, etc, to something
Example: I GAVE UP all my free time to the project.
Meaning: Allow someone to sit in your chair, take your place, etc
Example: I GAVE UP my seat to a pregnant woman.
Meaning: Allow or give away a run while pitching (baseball)
Example: He has GIVEN UP 14 earned runs in 14 innings.

Give in :
Meaning: Stop doing something because it's too hard or requires too much energy
Example: I couldn't finish the crossword puzzle and had to GIVE IN and look at the answers.
Meaning: Submit homework, etc.
Example: The projects have to be GIVEN IN three weeks before we break up for the end of term.
Meaning: Surrender, accept defeat
Example: They GAVE IN when the police surrounded the building.
Meaning: Offer or submit for judgement, approval
Example: They GAVE IN their complaint to the court.

To "give up," you stop trying to remedy a situation, problem, etc. There may be a feeling of frustration and defeat that goes along with it.
Ex: I've tried for hours to work this problem. I just don't know how to do it. I give up!
To "give in," you stop resisting pressure to do something.
Ex: She gave in to the pleas of her friends and went to the club with them.

I'm still learning too, but as I know:
Give up= surrender
Give in= to left something you're doing
Maybe I'm wrong but I hope i would be helpfull
