The Chinese New Year holiday(officailly)has just passed, but actually only the Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month in China(it is on 24 February this year) marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. On this day, people will eat glutinous rice dumplings, also called yuanxiao, which come in various flavors and are shaped like round balls. The classical flavour is sweet with lard-sesame filling, which happens to be a local speciality in my hometown.

You can also say "The Chinese New Year holiday has just officially passed." Also, use the same spelling--choose either "flavor" or "flavour." "Flavor" is used in the U.S. and "flavour" is used in the UK. Awesome job with this overall!
