I am wondering vs I was wondering. I hear these terms a lot in conversation, but I don't know the main difference. Any one can shed a light over ? Thanks

I'd say I'm wondering sounds like you just had the Idea, I was wondering sounds like you already had it. Also you can use I was wondering as a polite, indirect question, e.g. could you tell me where the station is?/I was wondering where the station was.

I agree with Sezme. We use them interchangeably, regardless of the tense and we also say, "I wonder." I would say you can use all three freely without stressing over the tense.

Hi Anwar🖐 The difference between the two phases differ in tense, they all have the same meaning. I'm wondering is the present tense and i was wondering is the past tense.

Hello Anwar. The difference in to two is the tenses. One takes place in the past and one in the present. "I was wondering" has happened. "I am wondering" is currently taking place. I hope that helps :)
