Some sentences have a clause like “with + subject + gerund”, does that mean a example or a extension to the previous clause? For instance:
1. Marlon Brando Jr. was an American actor and film director with a career spanning 60 years, during which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor twice.
2. Even clothes will be changed by nanotechnology, with new fabrics being developed which are resistant to stains.
Many thanks 😊

Hi, When you use "with + verb" you should add "ing" to end of the verb. This a grammatical rule of English.
For example:
He learned english with talking native speakers. ( It means native speakers talked with him so he learned.)
If you would use to instead of ing (He learned english to talk with native speakers.) It would mean he learned because he wanted to talk with native speakers.
