This is not just any street; in fact it is more of an outdoor bookstore. al-Mutanabbi, after whom this unusual street is named, is a 10th-century Arab poet regarded by many as one of the greatest, most prominent and influential poets in the Arabic language. The picture on the right shows the statue of him built at at the end of the Street beside the Tigris river. Upon entrance, you will be faced with the marvelous view of the street filled with bookstores and outdoor book stalls.
