What is the difference between "essuyer" and "sécher"? Which one should be used for something that is dried by the wind? Mercii😊

"essuyer" is to wipe. It implies the use of some sort of towels. So we wouldn't use "essuyer" for the wind. Ex : Ce torchon sert à essuyer la vaisselle. (This towel is used to dry/wipe the dishes). "sécher" is to become dry. Ex : Le linge sèche plus vite quand il y a du vent. (The laundry dries up more quickly when there is wind)
