I have heard a joke about travel saying that people who plan to travel just go to places that the locals see every day since they were born and are already tired of seeing it over and over again! It's absolutely right because I see many tourists coming to my hometown every day. They enjoy the mountains, lakes and parks which are very similar to the ones in their hometown. After taking a lot of photos of the scenery, they happily go back home. I have done the same thing before until I became afraid of travelling. Later, I decided to do something unusual, I checked the maps of the destinations online before travelling. I tried to find what kind of tasty local food to enjoy, because food in different areas is really different. While looking for local food, I could discover the true local culture which was really appealing, and I believe that wouldn't have experienced it the same if I had followed a tour guide. Getting close to the locals can help understand the local culture well. These were my best traveling experiences!
