It was overcast today. Alas! My super-duper comfortable chair was broken. The slider on the backrest had a stripped screw and wouldn’t stay in place, causing the back to slide down. A chair without a backrest is basically a stool. That wouldn’t work! But I’ve got Dad! He examined it and came up with a practical idea. He drilled a hole in the bar under the slider and attached a screw and nut in the right position/spot to prevent the back from sliding down. Of course, it was easier said than done. He put a lot of effort into disassembling and reassembling the chair and cursed a lot about its design. I watched and learned (not the cursing part surely) so that maybe one day I can become a good fixer too.
