Hello. My name is Betty, and I am from Pretoria, in South Africa. I am native English speaker, and I have a Btech in Biotechnology with 10 years of experience as a microbiologist and biochemist. My hobbies include reading and working out/exercisingIch als Lehrkraft
As a community teacher my intentions are to help my students improve their vocabulary and conversational skills in English. I create an environment that is free for students to make mistakes so that they can learn, grow and improve from them. I also ensure that the lessons given are tailored around the student's needs and objectives. Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
My teaching style is centered around the student, to allow them to take control of what they are learning and what they are mostly interested in. I will introduce a lesson and then let the students feel free with their learning. I welcome mistakes in our sessions and politely correct the students.

We had a trial lesson and a first lesson with teacher Betty, and it was great! Sofia really enjoyed it. The lessons were fun, very interactive, and personalized to her interests. She was encouraged to speak a lot about her hobbies, what she is reading, what she likes to do with her friends, movies she enjoys watching, and she learned the past tense of verbs. Teacher Betty made the lessons fun and engaging, using questions that kept Sofia interested. She asked open-ended questions, encouraging Sofia to speak in full sentences and express herself. The lessons were personalized to Sofia’s interests, and the feedback was always positive and constructive. We are excited and look forward to more lessons with teacher Betty!
