I am 57 and live near Cambridge with my husband and two grown up children. I have been learning Italian for three years now and enjoy the process learning one to one. I enjoy many hobbies including embroidery, drawing, gardening and cooking. I love to visit new places and meet all sorts of different people. Everyone has a story and I am very much looking forward to hearing yours. My friends describe me as kind, patient and fun so hopefully you will feel very relaxed in our first lesson.
While I have been learning Italian, I realised how difficult it can be to progress with speaking a foreign language. It can be nerve wracking and so when I teach conversational English, I will make sure that the student feels relaxed and I will emphasise that there is no rush to get the right word or phrase out.
While I have no formal teaching qualifications, I have college level education and speak with no accent.
My lessons will be informal, fun and I have lots of patience. I will start by asking the student about themselves and work on building up a strategy of learning by using their interests and hobbies. They can also ask me about my life and day to day activities or, if they are more advanced, we can talk about current affairs, history, politics etc.5.0

Antonia is an amazing teacher!
I have had lots of lessons with her and it's always a nice time.
I have learned new words, expressions and british vocabulary. For the last 5 lessons, I prepared a job interview with her.
She was asking me questions about the job as a finance recruiter and I had to answer. Guess what, thanks to Antonia, I got the job.
