Learning a new language is hard and scary! I know, I'm right there with you! I have a lot of friends who study Japanese. I'm very grateful for Saki san and my classes with her. My primary goal is speaking practice and Saki san is just so incredibly patient with me, even as I am clumsily bumbling my way through a sentence. I really appreciate her warmth, kindness, and ability to take everything in stride when I interject with a random question or bail partway through something I'm saying. Since starting lessons with Saki san, I feel much less nervous speaking in Japanese and a lot more willing to try to express my thoughts, even with mistakes.

Today, Saki san and I talked about my job and my upcoming travels. She was genuinely interested in what I had to say and made it comfortable for me to try getting my thoughts out. Even though I make lots of mistakes, Saki san offers such a safe space and is so encouraging.
