Greetings! My name is Arlene. I am from Puerto Rico. I am fluent in Spanish and English and I am learning Portuguese. I had a 26-year career in public communication, recruitment, and international programs. Now, I enjoy supporting people, especially older adults, in learning a new language. I love simplicity, nature, and activities that help me feel more connected to my body and the environment that surrounds me such as qigong and somatic meditation. My favorite book is The Alchemist.

My lessons incorporate somatic practices I have learned throughout my journey of personal growth. I think you will enjoy my lessons if your motivation for learning a new language includes any of the following: • You want to be heard and seen by another human being. • You want to experience the cognitive benefits of learning a new language such as improving your memory. • You value connecting with people from different cultures. • You appreciate a slower pace.

I always come prepare with content that is relevant to you. While I provide a bit of structure, my lessons are not as structured as traditional lessons. I like to flow and take advantage of every teaching moment that bubbles up. I provide written constructive feedback throughout the lesson and at the end send the document to you for review. If any of this information resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a trial lesson so that you can decide if I am the right tutor for you.
