Maria Komarova

Great lesson with Maria! We started with small talk about shopping for groceries and for Christmas gifts. Maria had a presentation ready all about food. We talked about eating habits and about the food we like/don't like. I learned a lot of new vocabulary. Maria does a really nice job updating our shared document with new and useful vocabulary and sentences. She always helps me out when I don't know a word and is easygoing when I make a mistake!

Super lesson with Maria! Maria sent me a story "колобок" and several videos earlier in the week, which we discussed in class. Some of the words in the story were new to me, but Maria added her comments in the story to help me understand. Maria is always supportive, and she is very patient when I try to figure out what to say or need help saying a word that I don't know in Russian. I learn so much in each lesson with Maria!

Super lesson with Maria! Maria sent me a story before class. When we started I told her that I read the story, and we had an interesting conversation about it. Maria also asked me about the last book that I read in French, so we talked about that as well. Maria is definitely helping me to be more at ease with speaking. I always enjoy talking with Maria and learning from her!

Super lesson with Maria! Before class, Maria sent me a story and a link to an old cartoon that she thought I would enjoy. I watched the video and answered some questions that Maria prepared. We talked about the story and the cartoon in our lesson. Maria answered all of my questions and told me what the words I didn't know meant. The stories and videos that Maria has me watch are really good in helping me to learn and understand. Maria is very patient and ready to explain anything I need!

Super lesson with Maria, as always! We started with small talk and wound up discussing famous heists - like the recent one at the Louvre. Maria had sent me the stories "репка" and "теремок" during the week. I read the stories before the lesson and we discussed the stories together. I can see why they are well-loved. Maria is very helpful during the lesson. She encourages me and makes me feel comfortable talking, even though I make mistakes!

Super lesson with Maria! We started with some small talk, as usual. Maria noticed that I wasn't properly pronouncing the x sound. We practiced that for some time and I started being able to make the sound. We also continued going through the presentation that Maria created about "books". Maria doesn't only read the presentation, but she asks me different questions that relate to the presentation. Maria is doing a great job of helping me improve my speaking and understanding. I always enjoy learning with Maria!
