I lived in both Damascus and the countryside. While in school, I had friends from all over the Middle East. I hold a bachelor's degree in translation, specializing in Arabic-English and vice versa, as well as a master's degree in interpreting from Damascus University. Additionally, I possess a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University. I am fluent in Arabic (Levantine), Modern Standard Arabic, and English. Currently, I work as a translator and teacher.
Ich als Lehrkraft
Making students love learning is my passion. I not only teach English and Arabic, but I also empower them with the skills to learn on their own and guide them to the right resources to continue improving their linguistic abilities in both languages.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
My teaching approach enables students to begin speaking the language they desire to learn rapidly. I provide constructive feedback in a friendly manner and motivate them to persist. My lessons are typically replete with examples and enjoyable anecdotes, even when the topic is Arabic grammar in all its complexity.
Dua uses an engaging style and encourages me to speak Arabic, always asking me for my opinions on whatever article we are reading. What makes her really stand out compared to other teachers is that she takes comprehensive notes and provides precise corrections for everything I say. This methodical approach has greatly helped me and I appreciate her dedication to teaching and the time she devotes to ensuring her students' progress.
