Hello, my name is Michiel, and I'm from the Netherlands. I was born to a Dutch mother and an English father. I am well-travelled and have lived in several countries, including the Netherlands, England, Spain, and China.
I’m very passionate about different cultures and languages, and I speak several languages, including Spanish, German, Dutch, and Mandarin Chinese, as well as basic French.
My hobbies include playing sports such as tennis, swimming, and going to the gym. I'm also very musical — I enjoy playing the guitar, singing, and deejaying.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I am a fully certified ESL tutor, holding a CELTA, a 120-hour TEFL certificate, the TKT Young Learners qualification, and a Bachelor of Science degree. I have over 15 years of teaching experience — 10 years in physical classrooms in China and the past 5 years as a full-time online tutor. I have worked across all areas of the ESL industry, including kindergarten, primary, middle, and high school, college, training centers, TOEFL and IELTS preparation, adult education, one-on-one tutoring, and business English.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
My teaching style includes active, engaging, and fun classes for young children — incorporating songs and interactive games — as well as professional-level grammar, speaking, fluency, and exam preparation classes for teenagers and adults. I tailor all lessons to meet each student's individual needs.
