Hi! I’m Alina 😊
I teach Ukrainian, Russian and English and help students understand grammar and actually use it in real life.
I’m a native Ukrainian and Russian speaker and speak English fluently. I work with students of different levels, adjusting lessons to their goals and needs.
My lessons are structured but relaxed, with clear explanations, lots of speaking practice, and constant feedback. I create a calm, supportive space where mistakes are a normal part of learning.

Ich als Lehrkraft
My lessons are fun and practical! We speak, explore grammar, read texts, and sometimes play games or use music — all to help you actually use the language.
I like to explain things clearly, so you understand why something works, not just memorize rules. You can always ask questions — mistakes are welcome and part of learning. I adapt lessons to your level and goals, helping you feel more confident and natural when speaking.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
In my lessons, we talk a lot — about topics that interest you and match your level. This way, you naturally expand your vocabulary and gain confidence in real conversations.
I provide all the materials you need: texts, articles, music, grammar exercises — everything is tailored to your goals and interests. Lessons are structured but flexible, so we focus on what will really help you use the language every day.
Over the past year, Alina has been an exceptional mentor and guide, going far beyond traditional teaching. She has helped me build language-learning software engineering applications and played a pivotal role in translating Management in Times of War from Ukrainian to English. Thanks largely to Alina's efforts, this important work is now available in English, with the sequel and second edition due to be published in the coming months.
Alina’s approach is the perfect blend of kindness and compassion, paired with discipline and focus when it comes to studying Ukrainian. She is incredibly patient, especially when helping me piece together sentences, ensuring I truly understand and improve. Beyond her expertise, Alina has been a trusted advisor, offering thoughtful guidance and encouragement in all areas of my life. I cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone seeking not just a teacher, but a dedicated, compassionate, and inspiring mentor.

Alina helped me correct my mistakes with endings of adjectives and nouns, also worked on verbs of motion, and discussed about reflexive verbs as well, it was the best lesson I had and getting more confident along the way but still a lot to learn!

Today, we covered seven verbs. I had to read in Ukrainian, the translate, then come up with a sentence of my own with each of the words using Ukrainian. Then Alina read me a paragraph one, then again with me translating as she read. Then she showed me the same paragraph in English and I had to translate into Ukrainian. We spent the rest of time in conversational Ukrainian talking about my week and what I did.
