Certified teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience. Hi, my name is Gisela, and I am a native Spanish speaker from Chile, currently living in Santiago, after living in Europe for 5 years. I speak English fluently, Portuguese and basic German. In the past, I worked in Sales and Distribution but found that teaching was my passion. I have worked with children, teenagers and adults for the past 8 years. I love music, I play the ukulele and love hiking, being with friends and meeting new people who want to do good things in the world. I am interested in psychology, social issues and TV series. I may have watched FRIENDS a hundred times, and I am now planning on watching it for the 101st time. I love being a teacher. I enjoy forming friendships with my students, learning about their lives and perspectives and using that to better guide them to learn Spanish. My purpose as a teacher is to lead the student to be able to use Spanish in the area that is important to them, whether it be in formal or informal contexts. I am not afraid to correct my students and make sure we tackle difficult areas methodically to see changes quickly. I have taught all ages, from 3 to 80 years old and with different motivations to learn the language. I teach through conversation. Starting from the basics but always practical, we gradually build up to more advanced dialogues while learning grammar and vocabulary actively and passively.
