Mary Jean is a great teacher! She allows me to talk freely, but also gives good examples and corrections if I am stuck or confused. She is also super friendly and our conversations are fun! :)

Lesson went well

Always a fun lesson and conversation! 😆 Mary Jean pushes me to speak in as much Tagalog as I can, really trying to limit my English. Because I’m trying to improve my comprehension/conversation skills, she will speak to me like a native speaker. But if she sees I’m having some difficulty, Mary Jean will rephrase her sentence or explain to me the new word/phrase. I get so much out of our lessons and we have fun! ✌🏼😄

We had a fun class today! If you’re looking for a more fun and casual environment to practice conversational Tagalog, I would definitely recommend class with Mary Jean! She is very engaging and will ask you questions and share some of her stories/experiences as well. As an intermediate learner, I do feel pushed in a good way because Mary Jean will speak at her normal pace and use colloquial words/expressions and if ever I don’t understand something, she will repeat, slow down, and/or explain. If you’re looking to improve your Tagalog, I definitely recommend class with her! ✨🧡
