Halo! I’m Riska—a language lover from Indonesia with roots in Garut’s lush hills and a heart for sharing my culture. Fluent in both Bahasa Indonesia and Sundanese, I help learners unlock these vibrant languages while weaving in local traditions and daily life. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me hiking Bandung’s trails (humming Sundanese folk songs!) or chatting with global friends online. My childhood adventures taught me curiosity—now, I channel it into making lessons lively and relatable. Let’s explore language together—your journey starts here!
Ich als Lehrkraft
From bustling classrooms to intimate one-on-one sessions, my teaching career has taken me on a diverse and rewarding journey since 2011. I cut my teeth teaching English to both elementary and high school students in a language center, before transitioning to private tutoring from home. Currently, I'm inspiring young minds as a middle school English teacher. I've even had the privilege of introducing international children to the beauty of Bahasa Indonesia. This varied experience has honed my ability to adapt to different learning styles and create engaging lessons for all ages. It's this adaptability and my deep love for language that brought me to iTalki. I look forward to meeting you!

So far I’ve been working with Riska for a couple of weeks and it’s really changed my thoughts on Bahasa Indonesia and on a deeper level, what language is. Although it’s difficult, I am throughly enjoying our conversations and really looking forward to being able to express myself more fully in this interesting and rich language ! Thank you for being on this journey with me Riska !

I had a great first lesson with Riska! She is very kind, has a fun and laidback approach and was very patient with me and my foreign accent. I even got to meet her cat at the end of the lesson! Thanks Riska, see you again soon :)

Riska is an excellent Sundanese teacher. I highly recommend her for instruction in Indonesian or Sundanese. She is patient, kind, and flexible, and encouraging; even though I’m a total beginner in Sundanese, I feel motivated and confident thanks to her. I learn so much from our lessons, and I love that she goes way above and beyond to create interesting materials for us to review together. Hatur nuhun! 💕

Great lesson with Riska! We finished working on chapter 4 in the textbook. We learned about the days of the week, parts of the day, and a lot about food and drink vocabulary. Riska also shared a document about affixes, and we learned about different prefixes and suffixes. Riska explained all about the different food dishes and ingredients, which was really fun!

Super lesson with Riska! Riska sent me a document about "basic sentence construction" that we reviewed. After that, we finished chapter 3 in the textbook and started on chapter 4. Riska does a nice job of explaining the topics, and I really like how she also relates the material to everyday life in Indonesia!
