As a son of a Balinese tour guide, I love sharing the folklore, language, culture, and traditions from Bali, Indonesia. I’m earning a degree to teach Mandarin to international students at a Chinese university. In 2021, I participated in the US State Department's YES Program for cultural exchange and leadership. In 2022, I spent the summer visiting my AFS host family from the YES Program. Each day, I use Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Bali, English and Chinese (Mandarin). I love learning languages and am dedicating my life to teaching languages in order to understand the cultural diversity. I enjoy life-long learning through traveling, and volunteering in social and cultural activities.Ich als Lehrkraft
I teach Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Bali in my classes using Bahasa, English or Chinese Mandarin for instruction. I enjoy teaching all ages and language levels and welcome overseas Indonesians. The class will be designed around your needs so schedule a trial lesson to discuss your goals. We should be having fun during the learning process. In my undergrad degree from the Chinese university, I’ve been designing learning materials using multiple online formats to make classes more engaging to create a strong connection with my students. I use fun methods such as: learning from songs, games, riddles, local jokes, photos, videos and Power Point to show the language, local culture and traditions from Indonesia. I will use a relaxed study approach, hence my students would learn the language without pressure and see me as their friend. My goal for teaching is to help my students use Bahasa for everyday conversations with native speakers while traveling or making friends with Indonesians. I encourage my students to be confident when speaking Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Bali in public by also teaching local culture and traditions in Indonesia, especially from Bali. Dena is the best teacher ever. I love his teaching style. He listens intently and displays calm and patience in his instruction. He always shares unique insights into Indonesian culture and language.
