My name is Tereza and I studied Czech language and literature and aesthetics at Charles University in Prague. I am interested in art, politics, society, healthy lifestyle or philosophy. In my free time I make funny videos about Czech, read but also do sports. Besides teaching Czech, I work as a cultural journalist.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I have been teaching Czech for eight years. I have worked in two language schools for Russian-speaking students and I also have experience with individual Czech lessons for beginners in English or German. I taught courses and individual lessons for Russian-speaking students. As Russian and Czech are very similar languages, lessons are conducted in Czech at A2-C1 levels, which makes teaching more effective. For students from non-Russian backgrounds who are new to Czech, I prepare lessons in English or German. I also work with students outside of lessons in chat, correcting assignments and sending them interesting facts about Czech or the Czech Republic.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
The worst thing that can happen is when the lessons get boring. I definitely don't want that, so we rotate different activities, working with interactive online exercises, texts, images, songs or videos. We practice different areas of Czech: reading comprehension, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, but most importantly I put a lot of emphasis on conversation. In the latter we practice new grammar and vocabulary so that they become quickly fixed. We talk about topics that are of particular interest to you. I always prepare lessons according to the specific needs and wishes of the student. Together we create a goal and a plan to achieve it.
