Yoshi

Yoshi's Easy Japanese for Travelling course was excellent preparation for my trip to Japan; it included loads of helpful vocabulary and basic grammar which were relevant for day to day interactions. The tools he provided were also very useful as a reference, which I could refer back to. He also teaches these materials in a fun & easy going manner. Highly recommended for this travelling to Japan soon!

Yoshi sensei’s grammar lesson is very helpful! I thought I understood particles pretty well but, he really goes into detail with examples of when and how to use Japanese particles naturally and correctly. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher to anyone interested in Japanese, and would recommend this lesson for anyone who wants to better understand particles. 楽しいレッスン😃沢山学びました！

今日は尊敬語と謙譲語について学びました。市販(しはん)の日本語の文法書では、尊敬語の作り方の一つとして「れる・られる」が紹介されていますが、今回のレッスンで、この形はあまり使われないということに気づきました。 また、「ご確認しました」よりも「確認いたしました」のほうが自然な表現だということも学べて、本当に勉強になりました。先生、次のレッスンもよろしくお願いいたします！

Speaking two languages while growing up was something I really took for granted, because as a child it was effortless. Nowadays, I am much older and took up Japanese on a whim while recovering from a surgery. Learning a third language is the most rewarding and enjoyable hard work I have had in a long time. I love it, and Yoshi is no small part of my Japanese adventure. He's always upbeat, easy to speak to (luckily for me), and makes things very clear. Honestly, I leave his lessons with more enthusiasm for learning this incredible language. Take it from me, I am retired public high school principal and college professor, this is what the best teachers do for their students! ヨシさんありがとうございます！

Today's lesson was a second look at a previous writing, where Yoshi helped me with not only grammar and vocabulary as one would expect, but also with the "more natural" dynamics of how Japanese people speak.
