Hi! I’m Yohana (or Yo)—an Indonesian language enthusiast who turned self-taught English fluency into a passion for teaching. Growing up without an English-speaking background, I mastered the art of learning languages through people—so whether you’re starting Indonesian or polishing casual English, I’ll make it feel like chatting with a friend. Growing up in a non-English-speaking family, I had no prior experience living in an English-speaking environment. So, it may come as a surprise that I am fluent in English. Over time, I have discovered effective and enjoyable methods that helped me learn a completely different language from my mother tongue. I believe that the key to learning a new language is to start with the student's interests. Learning a language is mainly about communicating naturally. Therefore, my lessons focus on conversation, catering to both complete beginners and students with a fair or good command of English / Indonesian. However, I am also open to your requests.
Below are my class rules:
1. Please arrive on time for your class.
2. Once the class is finished, please confirm its completion.
3. If you need to reschedule, please inform me at least 3 hours before the class starts.

Yohana provided a sheet with the most common phrases and words to get started. She explained the vowels in Indonesian pronunciation as well as explaining Noun-Subject and verb.

Yohanna is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning from. She is truly world class. I wish more teachers would teach as well as she does and I know that she truly loves what she does because she is so good at it.
I was excited to learn before taking her class but after seeing how much progress I have made after only 2 lessons I am now even more confident and excited about learning.
