My name is Abdullah (Short name is Abodi).
I am Syrian and I graduated from Al Baath University with a degree in Arabic literature. Currently, I am working for an NGO as a translator, as I am fluent in English, Arabic and Turkish. Teaching is my passion and I would like to transfer my passion to you. I love having general conversations about culture, languages, and history.
As for my leisure time, I love playing table tennis and I am good at it :) I love reading Arabic novels and I can recommend some nice Arabic books to read....Ich als Lehrkraft
I believe the best way to learn a language is to love it. Yes, I learned English and Turkish this way.
I started teaching Arabic by volunteering at Small Project Istanbul (SPI), an NGO which helps displaced Syrians in Istanbul. Many volunteers at SPI were interested in learning Arabic and I was a perfect match for them. They encouraged me to become a teacher as they believed in my teaching methods. That was the reason I began teaching on Italki in February, 2017.
I am an easy going, flexible teacher. I enjoy being a community teacher because I prefer conversation to grammar which is why I am also working at Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from America with Arabic.Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
We will talk about our lives, our hobbies, etc. All the while, I will be introducing new words and correcting your mistakes. Our goal is to make your conversation and speaking skills as natural as possible with playing some games

My first lesson with Abodi was excellent. He is extremely articulate, energetic and patient. From the beginning, he was deeply engaged, ensured that we had both introduced ourselves sufficiently, and took a lot of time to understand my current level in the language, after which we collaboratively devised a plan of study along with a consistent schedule of sessions. I left feeling motivated and confident that I have a concrete structure and path forward for continuing to learn the language. I highly recommend him!
