Hello! My name is Sigurd, and i come from Bergen on the west coast of Norway. I have a degree in music (jazz performance) from The University of Stavanger, and i have too many hobbies... Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, music, exercising, drawing, reading books and comics, warhammer, gaming, learning languages, and even more. I have spent a lot of time researching language learning, and i think that i can teach you much more than just Norwegian words and grammar. Language learning should actually be fun, and not a chore. In our lessons we can talk about whatever you like, i can teach you grammar if you want, but most importantly i will show you how you can learn the Norwegian language while consuming content of your liking. We actually learn languages by mostly listening and reading. Think about children for example. They can often speak languages fluently, without knowing anything about structure or grammar! We can talk, read, listen and discuss topics that you enjoy. I speak Norwegian, English, or Portuguese (intermediate). I can also communicate on a basic level in Spanish and German. We will use examples with text and audio, and i will give you resources that you can use yourself to practice a little bit every day.
Learning Norwegian will be fun, and i will teach you how to learn efficiently, while still keeping it light and interesting!5.0

I really enjoyed my lesson. He is a teacher who really listens to your goals and guides you properly. He is a relaxed guy who is very good at keeping the conversation going and making you feel comfortable. Highly recommend to take classes with him!

I highly recommend Sigurd! He is super kind and creates a relaxed space that makes it much easier to practice speaking. His explanations are very clear, and he gave me great tips right from the first lesson. I really appreciate the structured and flexible plan he mapped out for our upcoming classes. He is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an encouraging Norwegian teacher!

Sigurd is a great teacher! We've only had two lessons so far, and I already feel more confident when speaking Norwegian. He also created some material about a topic I need to work on. He's really patient and kind. I definitely recommend him. Tusen takk Sigurd, vi sees snart!
