Χαῖρε, ξένε, παρ᾽ἄμμι φιλήσεαι (Hello, stranger, you are welcome here!), says Telemachus to a disguised Athena in Book 1 of Homer’s Oydssey. It is a warm and fitting greeting for those beginning their journey into the world of Ancient Greek literature. In the same spirit, I welcome you to our First Greek Course class, where we will follow a carefully designed curriculum in order to thoughtfully and joyfully engage with the Ancient Greeks in their own language.

My lessons are highly interactive and fun while also being rigorous and organized. I love utilizing engaging powerpoints to serve as a visual aid for using the language. We'll associate vocabulary with images, compose sentences, and speaking in Ancient Greek. We will also do lots of reading in the language, beginning with simple sentences.
