My name is Rafael. My pedagogical approach integrates contemporary methodologies such as Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to deliver dynamic, customized lessons aligned with your specific objectives, whether for business communication, travel preparation, or certification exams like CELPE-Bras.

I hold a degree in Linguistics from the Federal University of Bahia. My methodology integrates the most current research-backed techniques in second language acquisition, including Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), which prioritize meaningful, real-world communication and authentic language use. My classes are dynamic, flexible, but structured. I believe it is important that learners feel confident and comfortable, so my role is to help you reach that place. The content of my classes are all unique and based upon the CEFR.
I have three kinds of classes:
The Portuguese Course - In this model you are independent and responsible for to get ready before the meeting. I'll send the documents before the class (The audios and also the activities).
Classes for CELPE-Bras (Brazilian Portuguese proficiency exam) - In this model, we study the CELPE-Bras exam and its purpose.

Another great lesson. Today we focused on pronunciation, even though it's hard for me to produce the nasal sounds, Rafael is very patient, he teaches me how to and corrects me when needed

Rafael is the man! Very helpful and explains everything clearly. I can already tell I can get much better quickly with his style of teaching. I like how he types everything as I speak and shows me the corrections in real time. He goes as slow or as fast as you need it!

Rafael is the best! He's patient and allows you to express your ideas, and he encourages you to share anything that you want to. I also enjoy the lessons because he always has interesting topics and suggestions about Brazilian culture, so not only are we practicing the language but also learning more about the country.
