Good first lesson.

Marie sensei always speaks with such patience, and our conversations have really helped me improve my Japanese. I’m very grateful for her kind support and encouragement.

Marie sensei is really professional and easy to talk to, which makes me feel relaxed and not at all nervous. Even though it’s a casual conversation class, it’s not just about chatting—she naturally weaves in grammar and vocabulary usage. She’s definitely a skilled and experienced Japanese teacher.

I hesitate to speak the truth worried that Marie sensei might become too popular and hard to book but I must be fair and honest. Among all the Japanese teachers I’ve had lessons with, I’m always the most confident and relaxed when talking with Marie sensei, and as a result it seems to bring out my best Japanese. I get to enjoy the lesson and get a big motivation boost besides all the learning and practice. It goes to show her skills at navigating the conversation according to the student’s level. With her I feel like my Japanese is really making progress.

Marie sensei’s style is both fun and relaxed, but can also be serious. She’s happy to just chat away or go deep into grammar points. She has a way of guiding and gently challenging to make sure I know the words and grammar I’m using, and to explain if I don’t. Not only are the conversations more engaging but it also helps me take something away from every lesson. I’ll definitely keep studying and practicing with Marie sensei.
