I’ve just had a lesson with Maaike, and I can highly recommend her as a language teacher. As an adult learner who is truly passionate about languages, I really value a teacher who listens carefully and Maaike does exactly that. She has an exceptional ability to listen attentively and pick up on subtle details in my speech. Her feedback is always precise, relevant, and immediately useful. Rather than giving vague corrections, she pinpoints exactly what needs improvement and explains it clearly, which makes real progress possible. What impressed me most is her adaptability. She adjusts naturally to my level, my goals, and even my learning style, making the lesson both efficient and enjoyable. I left the session feeling motivated, supported, and confident about continuing to improve. I’m genuinely looking forward to our next lesson!

Could not recommend Maaike highly enough! She is easy to talk to, LGBTQIA+ friendly, lessons are planned well and enjoyable. I have learnt so much in such a short time.

I really enjoy learning Flemish with Maaike. Maaike is a pleasant and lively person which really make me feel less pressure with the difficulty of the language. I am very beginner and she is very patient with me. She always corrects my pronunciation and helps me get it right. She encourages me to speak and take time with me when I think of the vocabulary and try to build the sentences so that I can retrieve what I learn and use it with her. I feel that the lesson is very short as the time flies when I study Flemish with Maaike. Thank you for being patience with me :)

Maaike is an amazing teacher! I always look forward to our lessons because she makes them enjoyable. She is really easy and comfortable to talk with, which has made me a lot more confident in my speaking. She has taught me a lot of Flemish differences that I otherwise would have never known. She takes notes during lessons, and at the end, she helps me with sentences and pronunciation. Overall, Maaike is a genuine person who is very fun to chat with. She is attentive and curious in the best way. Each lesson, you leave feeling better about your Dutch and wanting to keep improving. I'd suggest Maaike to anyone regardless of their skill level!
