I am a Japanese teacher with 20 years of experience.
I run a private tutoring school where I teach many students one by one.
I have worked with children who have overseas backgrounds, helping them learn Japanese in a way that fits their needs.
I also have experience teaching children with learning difficulties, and I am comfortable supporting their learning.
My lessons are easy to understand and fun, because I believe enjoying learning is very important.

In my lessons, I help students not only prepare to pass the JLPT but also develop skills to speak confidently with Japanese people and read kanji when traveling in Japan.

I LOVE learning w Mayumi Sensai! As a beginner, she makes me feel very comfortable even though I’m going into this not knowing much. I also enjoy our little side conversations in which Mayumi will teach me specific words used in our conversation and translate them in Japanese! Highly recommend Mayumi Sensai if you’re a beginner in learning Japanese :)!

Mayumi-san is a very knowledgeable and experienced Japanese teacher. I found her conversational teaching style especially helpful for speaking skills. She's also really good at explaining concepts of Japanese language in a way that’s easy to understand.
