I’m Liza, I’m your new Russian‑language teacher!
I was born in Russia’s far‑north Murmansk Region, spent years studying and working in vibrant Moscow, and have now settled in Tel Aviv – ginger cat in tow (he’s already mastered lounging in the Middle‑Eastern sun). Outside the classroom you’ll usually find me soaking up art exhibitions, experimenting in the kitchen, or planning my next trip to explore a new culture. I look forward to sharing language, stories, and a lot of curiosity with you this term.
9 years ago, I gave my very first Russian lesson in Hungary. Back then, I had no idea I’d fall head over heels for teaching. Since then I’ve guided different people from toddlers tracing their first Cyrillic letters to diplomats perfecting negotiation jargon and tech specialists prepping for Moscow relocations. I’ve created university electives, run intensive summer camps, and mentored fellow teachers, always adapting materials to each learner’s goals and interests.
My lessons revolve around real communication, because language should feel alive in your mouth, not frozen on a page. With absolute beginners we tackle grammar in tiny, humorous bites and short videos that turn mistakes into laughs, so progress feels like an adventure. Once you’re comfortable, we switch to content‑rich sessions—news articles, podcasts, YouTube clips, whatever’s trending that week—so your Russian grows in step with the world’s conversations. Drawing on my media background, I’m passionate about disman...

I found the Russian language materials to be very effective because they combine visual landmarks with practical grammar. Using iconic spots like the Colosseum or the Sydney Opera House makes learning city names and activities feel much more engaging than a standard textbook. I especially liked how the lessons on verb conjugations for words like to work, to speak, and to know were paired with real-life photos of people dining, studying, or taking pictures. It helped me visualize the context of the dialogues immediately. The section on what is permitted or forbidden at a pool versus a museum was also a highlight, as it provided a clear way to practice modal verbs in situational settings. Regarding the instructor, I was impressed by their ability to explain complex rules while providing constant encouragement and clear examples. The curriculum felt well-structured, and I felt Liza was fully present and professional throughout the entire lesson.

Gradually harder and i need to think alot. Great training and hard to remember all words. Liza is patient and encouraging, at the same time as she expects me to do my best. Little by little my Russian is developing.

The Russian lesson with Liza was a solid session. Using images to practice "можно" and "нельзя" (can and cannot) is a very practical way to get used to how these words work in everyday settings like parks, libraries, or cafes.
The mix of verbs—like talking on the phone, eating breakfast, or walking the dog—makes the vocabulary feel relevant. It was also a good touch to include the short dialogues about asking questions in class and the timing of meals, as it adds a bit of natural flow to the grammar. It’s a straightforward, effective way to build up speaking confidence without overcomplicating things. Bit by bit (по чуть-чуть), the phrases are starting to stick.
