Hey there! My name is Anabela, I’m 26 and I come from Pazin, a small town in the heart of magical Istria. I hold a deep love for languages & literature, which I see as powerful ways to explore the beauty and diversity of the world around us, and that is what led me to pursue a master’s degree in Croatian and Japanese studies. In addition to teaching Croatian, I spend my free time reading, drawing, hiking, taking photos, travelling, and studying Japanese. Language learning is much more than a simple pastime for me - it is something that brings people together, opens up new ways of understanding the world and expresses one's identity, and I hope to convey that to you as well :)
Ich als Lehrkraft
My main motto as a teacher is simple: to help uncover the knowledge already within you. I believe that we are capable of much more than we believe ourselves to be, it’s just that we sometimes need a little nudge in the right direction, or a bit of encouragement. For me, teaching is more than just a job - it serves as a way to support others in a meaningful way, and to keep learning in return. I also believe genuine curiosity and enjoyment to be the foundations of learning. As such, my classes aren't just a place to learn grammar - they're about having fun and finding opening people’s horizons, introducing them to new ways of thinking and seeing the world, and attaining new experiences.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
My aim is to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where all types of learners feel welcome. You don’t have to feel worried about making mistakes – I see them as a crucial part of the learning process. Whether you prefer open-ended conversation or guided lessons, I tailor my approach to suit your comfort level and goals. I use a variety of self-made materials - exercises, games, visuals, and even newspaper articles for more advanced learners & I always try to personalize lessons based on your interests, experiences, and needs. As a language enthusiast, I also enjoy weaving in a bit of etymology; exploring word roots across different languages, if you like that sort of thing!
