Bruce

Bruce is an excellent teacher! He tailors each lesson to the student's skills and goals. Today we chatted for a few minutes (in ASL) and then we practiced expansion techniques. Bruce is always prepared with materials on the whiteboard, and he includes lots of examples for practice for each concept. He is very kind and encouraging, and he's good at explaining features of ASL that do not exist in English. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!

Bruce did a great job of quickly figuring out exactly the level I needed us to sign at and sticking with signing the entire time! I felt super confident signing with him but also stretched in my abilities just enough that I feel like I leveled up a ton during the lesson. Great teacher if you want someone who will challenge you but not intimidate you!

My first lesson with Bruce was so nice! I was nervous and he quickly reassured me that this was a safe learning space! He wanted to know my hobbies and reasons for learning so it could be more equipped for me. He was very patient with me and I learned a handful just in the first 60 minutes meeting him! What a delight, I will make time soon for more lessons with Bruce! :)

Awesome class all about the concept “think” in ASL. As a corollary to the lesson we ended up touching upon a concept in which I will be very interested as my skill and ease of ASL usage increases: ASL expansion. I truly appreciate that Bruce created an entire lesson based on my pondering what appears to be a single verbs but has myriad usage contexts and options for creating clear, contextual representations of it.
