Γεια σας! My name is Theodore and I live in Kavala, Greece. I am a certified, professional teacher and I have studied History and Ethnology along with Greek language and literature. When I am not playing the bouzouki, the traditional Greek instrument, or exploring the city and nature with my e-bike, I am teaching Greek language by blending in Grammar, Vocabulary and everyday chats and making you feel confident in Greek! History, culture, languages are my main passions. I am a really positive, energetic and patient person and I like to make my friends, students and the people around me better and better! I have studied History and Ethnology along with Greek language and literature, I have a teaching qualification and I have focused on intracultural education. I really like to come into contact with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds. That way, I think I get a better grasp of myself and I feel I become better and better, both as a teacher and as a person, in general! I really enjoy communicating with my students, whether it is during the lesson or not! I follow a holistic approach in my teaching method, which acknowledges the fact that the student is both a learner in progress and an individual person with needs, strong points and points to improve on. I focus on everyday language, as I believe that this is the best way in order to acquire a better understanding of the actual language itself and the people who are speaking it. I try to understand the interests of my students in order to personalize each lesson for them and the topics that we are going to talk about. Learning through play (play-learning, as I call it) is the best way for the students to absorb and acquire the knowledge. I focus both on structure (grammar, vocabulary, etc.) and communication (speaking and having conversations with my students). These elements are the building blocks of true language acquisition! I’ve been taking lessons with Theodoros for a few lessons now and I’m throughly enjoying them. He’s extremely organised and he is very passionate about what he’s teaching. I’m understanding things so much more clearly and he goes at a really nice pace. He plans the lessons very well. I’ll definitely be continuing my studies of the Greek language with him.
