I came in with some prior knowledge but we still covered basic grammar rules and vocabulary to see where I was struggling. If you have some Spanish knowledge, it's best to come in with an idea of what you need to improve on, so you can create a lesson plan together. However, she can meet you where you're at and provide structure if you're lost. Super sweet teacher with a lot of passion for what she does. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Spanish in a patient and non-judgmental environment.

This was my first lesson on iTalki. I originally came here to learn Spanish but I was excited to see Zapotec being offered so I booked this class on a whim. The trial class exceeded my expectations! I really enjoyed speaking with and learning from Margarita. She's very kind and thorough in her explanations. We covered history of the language, different dialects/variants, pronunciation, learning goals, lesson structure, and even learning materials. 5 stars! Looking forward to my next session.

Margarita was very helpful and made sure to understand what my goals were, what my current Spanish ability was and adjusted our lesson accordingly. She is also a very interesting, warm person and was lovely to speak with. One of my main goals is to gain more confidence in speaking Spanish (I feel quite uncomfortable speaking) and she did a great job of making me feel comfortable within minutes. I was able to use the entire time to practice speaking but Margarita also seamlessly gave me the words I didn’t know and provided the grammar/vocab for me to review later. I definitely recommend that you take a lesson with her!

Margarita is patient, funny, and helps you feel comfortable learning. Great teacher!
