Über mich
italki-Lehrkraft seit 15. Oct 2020
Hello my name is Ophir, but everyone calls me Effie. I was born in Israel and after I finished university I went traveling for four years in more than 50 different countries and for my experience I believe that the best way to get to know a country is by learning to speak the language and getting to know the culture. Five years ago I moved to Brazil and decided to open a backpackers hostel. It was an amazing experience to meet people from all over the world. I really enjoy playing the guitar, doing yoga, meditation, spending time in nature and more than anything meeting new people.
Ich als Lehrkraft
Last year I created a language exchange program, where people could teach their native language in exchange to learn a new language. I myself gave classes in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Hebrew and got the opportunity to learn French. It was a really challenging and rewarding project that made me understand the different needs of my students and be creative with the methods of teaching in order to create fun and challenging classes. I'm highly motivated to teach languages, because I know I can help students to get a really useful tool for life. I'm enjoying to be an important part in the process and see the progress and results.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
In the first class we will make a short test that will classify your level and then we are going to talk about what you want to achieve and then we are going to set objectives for the learning process together. I believe in interactive classes, that will involve reading interesting articles and stories, listening to music, watching videos and having conversations. I always try to focus on the needs of my students and prepare classes that will be both challenging and interesting. During will give you a new list of vocabulary with useful words in addition to homework. Every class will include reviewing the homework, learning grammar, pronunciation and conversation practice and new vocabulary.
