I am a native Japanese teacher living in Germany. I've also lived in the UK and France, and enjoy discovering foreign cultures, while still appreciating Japanese traditions such as tea ceremony and calligraphy. Teaching on italki since 2019, I enjoy sharing my love for languages and accompanying my students on their journey. Some students started with me back then and are still learning with me today, progressing from complete beginner to fluency over the years, and it has been a pleasure to witness their development. Language learning is a long (but rewarding!) process that can be hard to navigate on your own. I guide you based on both my teaching experience and my own experience of learning languages quite different from my own. Certified in 2005, I adapt my approach to each student, combining precise bilingual instruction and comprehensible input. I aim to create a safe environment where you can feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes. Beginners can start from the basics, with my original materials designed to make learning engaging. From intermediate level, we shift focus to application through conversation and activities, to address gaps and strengthen your grammar and vocabulary. You will also develop an understanding of real-life Japanese, society, and culture, so you can express yourself with confidence and feel like yourself in the language. ☆Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language (IIEL) ☆English (C2), French (DALF C1)

Yukari is a great teacher. She is very patient if you are, like me, a rather slow learner. She adjusts the lessons to your needs, is super friendly and very knowledgeable if you have questions about various subjects surrounding Japan etc. I'm always looking forward to my lessons, can very much recommend!
